"Mir Kamnya" ("World of Stone") Museum

The exhibition includes over 2,000 specimens of minerals, rocks, and fossils from various parts of the world: Russia, the USA, India, Australia, Israel, Italy, Spain, Vietnam, African countries, etc. The central focus is on the mineral wealth of Altai Krai.

The museum widely features precious and decorative stones, rare collectible specimens, fossilized species of ancient animals and plants, and works by Altai craftsmen.

The stones won't tell their own stories, but the museum guides are happy to share many fascinating tales about the "life" of minerals. During the tour, the exhibits literally come to life, as you can not only look at them but also photograph them, hold them in your hands, and even smell them...

The "World of Stone" museum draws the attention of residents and city guests to the history of Altai Krai and its capital. The museum's specialists conduct walking tours on the grounds of the former Barnaul Silver Smelting Plant, where the city began. Every summer, geological and educational tours are organized throughout Altai. This is an opportunity to literally touch the region's past by visiting the Kolyvan Stone-Cutting Factory, museums of mining and stone-cutting, and to find interesting specimens at ore and gemstone deposits.

The museum itself regularly hosts public educational lectures, sessions of the "Young Geologist" children's club, meetings, and masterclasses. The museum offers various tours, including interactive ones, quiz battles, quests, and more.

Visitor rules:

• Photo/video shooting is permitted.
• Exhibits on the lower open shelves of the display cases can be touched.

Entrance tickets for self-guided tours: 50 RUB (per person). Children up to 5 years old (inclusive) are free.

Tour for up to 5 people (45 minutes): 1000 RUB (per person); over 5 people – 200 RUB per person (unique geology of Altai, history of mining and stone-cutting art).

Tour by the Museum Founder for up to 5 people (45 minutes): 1500 RUB (per person); over 5 people – 300 RUB per person (unique geology of Altai, history of mining and stone-cutting art).

Tour visit for organized groups of schoolchildren (45 minutes - "lesson"):

• Group of 15 people or more: 100 RUB (per person)
• Group of 10 to 14 people: 150 RUB (per person)
