Brief historical background, collections and exhibitions of the museum
Status: Private museum (Group of companies "Pantoproekt").
In Biysk, at 26 Irkutskaya Street, the Altai Maral Museum is housed on the second floor of a small historic mansion. It was founded in 2013 by Nikolay Frolov, the head of the "Pantoproekt" group of companies.
The exposition of the Altai Maral Museum includes the most interesting facts about marals, their statuettes, paintings, books, photographs, as well as historical household items of maral breeders and hunters.
The museum consists of three halls, all of which are dedicated to the Altai maral. It features a variety of works of art, including paintings and figurines made of ceramics, wood, and glass depicting marals, unique collections dedicated to the relationship between humans and marals over the centuries, legends and rituals associated with this horned king of the taiga, and much more. The central part of the exposition is occupied by antlers. In the Altai Maral Museum, every guest will learn a phenomenal number of interesting facts about maral breeding farms, marals, and, of course, the processing and value of antlers.
