Brief historical background, collections and exhibitions of the museum
The museum was founded in 2003.
Ermi-Tash has Altai roots and translates as "star stone or stone fallen from the heavens."
The museum is dedicated to the history, culture, and daily life of the Altai peoples.
Some exhibits:
- Miniature ail – a traditional Altai dwelling. The museum is divided into two parts: male and female. Each of them presents craft items, ancient tableware, and household items reflecting the lifestyle of the Altaians. For example, hunting equipment is placed in the men's half, and various utensils and a children's corner with a cradle and toys are in the women's half.
- Photo exhibition dedicated to the history of Teletskoye Lake in the 20th century. The photographs depict the lake and its surrounding nature, the Biya River, the only one originating from the lake, and the settlements of Artybash and Iogach.
- Collection of minerals and stones, many of which are rare. Almost all of them were found in the area of Teletskoye Lake or in other regions of Gorny Altai.
- Works by local artists and carvers.
