Brief historical background, collections and exhibitions of the museum
Status: Private museum.
The Museum of Blacksmithing in the resort town of Belokurikha, Altai Krai, was founded in 2016 by Anna Biletskaya, a master blacksmith, at her own smithy.
The museum features:
- Forged items and antique utensils from the late 19th – early 20th centuries: samovars, chests, cast-iron irons, kerosene lamps, sewing machines, spinning wheels.
- Blacksmithing tools – hammer, anvil, tongs.
- Works by Anna Biletskaya herself and other masters.
- A collection of blacksmith aprons.
A highlight of the museum are the iconographic images of Cosmas and Damian, the patron saints of blacksmiths.
