Brief historical background, collections and exhibitions of the museum
The open-air museum in Kulada is located in the territory of the village of the same name in the Ongudaysky District, within the Uch-Enmek Ethno-Natural Park. The museum is the main attraction of the village, so finding it in the settlement is not difficult. It is enclosed by a wooden fence and has a small sign.
It consists of an exhibition dedicated to the culture and daily life of the Altai people, and also presents ancient stone statues.
Here one can learn about the life of the Altaians, their customs, and traditions.
The museum is notable for the fact that one can not only look at the exhibits and listen to informative stories from the guide but also hold them in one's hands.
One of the central elements of the exhibition is a model of an ail – a traditional Altai dwelling.
