Brief historical background, collections and exhibitions of the museum
In 1958, V. G. Zhemerov founded the people's museum. On October 6, 1978, the collections were housed in the building of the merchant Selyutin's trading office, built in the early 20th century.
An exhibition hall has been operating since May 1997. Over 20,000 people visit the museum annually. Much attention is paid to military-patriotic, moral, and aesthetic education. In 2023, the Slavgorod City Museum of Local Lore received support from the "Culture" national project. Within this project, permanent exhibitions were modernized and new ones were added.
Currently, the museum's funds include over 26,000 exhibits that reflect the history of the city and the district. The museum's ethnographic collection includes household items and clothing of settlers. Visitors are presented with unique collections of cameras, movie cameras, and samovars. Letters from the front, awards, and documents tell about the participation of Slavgorod residents in the Great Patriotic War. The nature department introduces visitors to the flora and fauna of the region. In 2005, an archaeology department was added to the exposition.

- Life of German settlers;
- The Great Patriotic War;

- Heroes of our time (exposition on the special military operation);
- Military formations of the city;
- Honorary citizens of Slavgorod;
- Food industry;
- Nature department.
