Brief historical background, collections and exhibitions of the museum
The Pospelikhinsky Museum of Local Lore was established on a voluntary basis in the 1980s. The idea for its opening belongs to the District Committee of the CPSU.
In 1983, a one-story stone building of beautiful architecture was specially built for the museum in the center of the village. April 19, 1985, became the museum's opening date. The main visitors to the museum are schoolchildren. It was they who collected a rich amount of material for the creation of the exposition.
Today, the museum has an interesting collection of funds. The world of the Altai village from the late 19th to the early 20th centuries is most expressively represented in the exposition: traditional peasant clothing, women's needlework, and household utensils. The collection on the history of the Civil and Great Patriotic Wars, which includes authentic documents, photographs, weapons, awards, and everyday items, is of great interest.
Main sections:
- "Nature" introduces the animal world, ancient nature, and mineral resources.
- "Archaeology" presents ancient historical monuments: fragments of ceramics from the 15th–17th centuries, stones with traces of manual processing, and coins from a hoard.
- The Art Section, the basis of the exposition, consists of original paintings by Moscow, Altai, and Pospelikha artists.
