Brief historical background, collections and exhibitions of the museum
The Krasnogorsky District Museum of Local Lore was established in 2001 on the basis of the previously existing district history club, which had been active since 1983.
In 2014, a new exposition, "At the Origins of Museology," was opened, dedicated to the work of Z.D. Kurbatova, the founder of the district's local lore museum.
The museum has 4 active halls.
The first hall covers the history of the district from pre-revolutionary times to 1917. It features the following expositions:
- Archaeology and paleontology of the district
- Mineral collection
- A stand and exposition dedicated to the Kumandins – the indigenous inhabitants of our district
- Exposition "Items of Antiquity" (items of Russian life from the late 19th to early 20th centuries)
- Exposition dedicated to the activities of Aggey Efimovich Antonov – a Russian entrepreneur and cooperator.
The second hall of the museum covers the history of the district from 1917 to 1940. It features the following expositions:
- Stand "The Civil War"
- Stand "The First Village Soviets"
- A stand dedicated to the first secretary of the Staro-Bardinsky district committee of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks), Ivan Ilyich Bokhanko
- Stand "The Repressions of 1920–1930"
- Stand "Collectivization"
- Stand "Life in the District in the 20s–40s" (development of education, culture, medicine)
- A plow, a camera of that time, and clothing are also exhibited.
The third hall of the museum is the "Hall of Military Glory of the District." It features stands on:
- "Heroes of the Soviet Union"
- "Full Cavaliers of the Order of Glory"
- "The Home Front"
- Personal belongings of Air Force Major General Valentin Filatov: awards, full-dress uniform, photographs.
- Materials about internationalist soldiers who fulfilled their patriotic duty in the Chechen Republic.
The fourth hall of the museum is the "Hall of Labor Glory of the District." It shows the history of the district from the first post-war years to the present day. Stands include:
- "Labor Glory"
- "Industry"
- "Agriculture"
- "Culture," "Medicine," "Education"
- "Holidays, Rites, Customs"
- A stand dedicated to the Chernobyl disaster.
- A stand "The Kumandins" (about scholars P.I. Karalkin and F.A. Satlaev).
